“Amber Joy is a Sussex based Surface Design Artist, formally trained in Furniture Conservation and Restoration with a specialism in Marquetry. She has spent fifteen years honing her skills with wood veneer and precious materials, training in historical techniques at Buckinghamshire New University, Lycée des métiers Jacques Brel and École Boulle, Paris. before working with industrial laser cutters in a high-end furniture company.

Alongside marquetry artwork, she collaborates with cultural and heritage sites to create bespoke acrylic and wooden shop products, based on their collections, exhibitions and architecture.
Amber Joy facilitates workshops across the South East, both privately and through Adult Education colleges. Courses include furniture restoration, marquetry, mosaic and crochet.”
