“I am a ceramic artist who initially studied Psychology and worked in Further Education Colleges for 18 years. Now I combine my interest in people with my love of clay to make project based, hand built work to tell stories and communicate ideas. The ‘Ancient Toys’ project is inspired by the universal appeal of toys that date back as far as 1600BC. The surface treatment of this collection gives the impression of toys being rescued from the earth. This project evolved into the ‘Regeneration’ project that communicates the hope that the natural world will be treated better by the next generation. The Oak tree project illustrates the sanctuary that the tree provides to over 2300 species.
I did an MA in Craft at Brighton University and participated in the Craft Council Hothouse 2019 programme whilst setting up my studio in Lewes.”
