"I have been a potter for 35 years, establishing the Star Pottery in Lewes in 1989. In 2019 we celebrated 30 years at the Star Pottery! I specialise in brush decorated, hand-thrown stoneware and earthenware Majolica pottery, in the tin glazed earthenware tradition.
I gained my BA Hons Ceramics at Farnham Art College, then went on to train with Alan Caiger-Smith at Aldermaston Pottery and later with Jonathan Chiswell-Jones in Sussex. In 1989 I was awarded a Crafts Council Grant and that’s when I established my workshop in the Star Brewery building.
The Pottery is in the heart of historic Lewes, and is overlooked by the impressive ruins of a Norman Castle. Our Pottery and Gallery Shop is open to the public, where you can buy items made by my students and I. You can also catch a glimpse of potters throwing, decorating and glazing."
