“Whilst exhibiting predominantly in steel, I have two seasons of work; one using paper and willow and the other in metal.
I have made Wakehurst Glow Wild lanterns on behalf of the wonderful Same Sky since 2015. During my metal season, I confidently transcribe these willow structures to make unique linear garden sculptures.
I work with steel in the same way I would with willow; long lengths to aid leverage. Using this method I need minimal tools, manipulate the steel without heat and maintain close physical contact with the material.
I have a unique style that particularly celebrates the line of suggestion. Continuing to work in Barcombe Mills, my work is certainly inspired by the richness of local wildlife.
I have a strong participatory background and love to develop the opportunity to involve others in my work. I specifically recognise the empowering potential of women working in this medium.”
