“There’s something magical about working in print-the sense of creating while almost second guessing most of the way how it’s going to come out. It’s this challenge, this unknowing and the big reveal moment that got me hooked on linocut about five years ago. Working as an illustrator in watercolour, and a love of drawing have formed the basis on which I create my linocuts, preferring to use a limited palette to concentrate on form and composition.
Like many artists and makers in this area, I’m inspired mostly by the wildlife and the curving landscape of the South Downs, and it’s often an image on a walk that catches my eye that will end up as a linocut print.
My prints are also available on a homeware range with a selection of fair-trade tea towels, notebooks and cards, and soon tote bags will be added to the range.”
